MEET LARA

Kia Ora! Welcome to Kiwi Communication. My name is Lara and I graduated in the UK in 2010. That means I have been practising for 14 years (doesn't time fly!) and I have loved every minute of it!
I started my career back at home on a little island called Guernsey in the Channel Islands. In 2013, I was lucky to be awarded a Woman in Professions grant which allowed me to volunteer in an Early Intervention Centre in Fiji, what an experience!
Following this, I decided that working around the world as a Speech Language Therapist was for me, so in 2018 I traveled and spent a year working in both urban and rural Australia.
In 2019, I came to New Zealand and I can't seem to make myself leave. I love the adventure, mountains, the culture and the people!
I am a current, registered member of the New Zealand Speech-language Therapists Association (NZSTA). I work part time in the public sector for Te Whatu Ora and part time in the private sector for Kiwi Communication. I love working with all children with a range of speech, language and communication difficulties, however, I do have a passion for  supporting whanau with feeding, eating and drinking and have become a Feeding Specialist in the last few years.
